Music at Clanfield CE Primary School

At Clanfield CE Primary School we believe that every child should have access to our Music Curriculum. Learning about music and having the opportunity to play instruments together is an important part of a rounded education. Music plays an important role in brain development and helps to develop language, motor skills, emotional intelligence and collaboration skills.

Our Curriculum follows the planning of 'SingUp' and we also provide the children with the opportunity to perform and access peripatetic music lessons in woodwind, brass, guitar and piano. We also work with 'iRock' to give the children the opportunity to perform together as a band.

This year we are very lucky to have Lindsay Carruthers joining us as a Music Teacher linked to Cotswolds Arts Through Schools (CATS). Lindsay will be teaching the children across the school alongside running a choir for Years 3-6, Come and Sing for Ruby and Diamond and leading our singing assemblies. We will look forward to sharing more with you over the coming months.
