Collective Worship
Each day we join together for collective worship and celebration. We join together in the school hall, outside or in our classrooms.
We have a clear timetable for Collective Worship each week which can be seen below.
Monday - Collective Worship
Worship is led by Reverend Janice and provides a time for reflection and discussion. Christian Scripture is usually based upon the liturgical year and is always linked to a story in the Bible.
Tuesday - Singing Assembly
Our class worship is often a Big Thought or topical issue linked to Picture News and is led by the class teacher.
Wednesday - Collective Worship
Whole school Worship led by Mrs Rogers. This can be a follow up from Monday's worship using the same text or more recently linked to wild worship/Be Space/Prayer Space activities either as a whole 'family' in the hall or in Key Stages which gives more time for discussion and practical activities.
Thursday - Class Worship
This is led by the Music lead and an be worship through a song or singing practice. When it is singing practice, the class teacher will carry out a Space Makers/Spirituality activity as well as the practice.
Friday - Celebration Assembly
This assembly focuses on celebrating achievements and progress noted by staff throughout the week. Whole School Celebration of our Christian Vision and Values.
Worship Warriors
Our worship warriors play a vital role in enhancing our collective worship and spiritual life. At the start of each school year, the children have the opportunity to apply to be part of our worship warrior team, with two representatives from each class being chosen. Our worship warriors take on a range of responsibilities that allow them to lead and shape worship in meaningful ways. They lead one worship a term in school and lead our Harvest, Remembrance, Advent and Easter services in church.
The worship warriors are actively engaged in evaluating our worship in school, ensuring it is engaging and relevant for everyone. They are responsible for the upkeep of our worship table in the school hall, keeping it beautifully organised and reflective of the liturgical colours of the season. They are also responsible for setting up the hall for worship each day and choosing our worship songs. We are also hoping they will lead our Space Makers contemplative toolkit in months to come.
Our worship warriors do an incredible job and show such wonderful commitment to this important role.
