Welcome to Sapphire class!
In Sapphire Class, we aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum that is stimulating and challenging. We support children to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to enable them to enjoy learning and achieve success. We strive to develop a positive learning environment where children feel safe, happy and confident to take on challenges. Our aim is to help our children to grow into kind and compassionate young people who have a desire to work hard to reach their full potential. Please take a look at our curriculum maps and photos to find out more about the exciting things that we have been learning about recently.
Our learning journey...
This term, our key concept is 'aspirations'. Our curriculum commission is to work as archaeologists. We will be using the skills that we have learnt to create a museum about Ancient Egypt. We will be learning about the human and physical features of Egypt, as well as some of the history of this fascinating country.
This term, we will be exploring the texts, 'The Egyptian Cinderella' by Shirley Climo and 'Tutankhamun's Tomb' by Sue Reid. Our writing learning journeys will provide us with the opportunity to write newspaper reports, narratives and non-chronological reports.
