Our Year 3 footballers took to the Astro turf at Carterton Community College in pursuit of silverware in the Small school's football tournament on Wednesday. Playing in five hotly contested matches in pool 2 against Oxfordshire schools, they raced to a four goal victory in the very first match. Unfortunately disappointing losses in their second and third matches, despite outplaying the opposition, put the possibility of a semi-final place just out of reach. The team continued to play superbly in their final two matches, encouraging each other throughout clearly demonstrating the value of the tournament teamwork. |

We are delighted to announce that we achieved the School Games Silver Mark Award for the 2017/18 academic year. The School Games Mark is a Government led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust, to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success. With so many of our young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who make our competitions possible. As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year! |
